BOOKS WITH A PURPOSE TAG

A huge thank you to the lovely Ara @ The Bookish Agenda for tagging me to do this unique tag!

I love doing book tags and this particularly awesome tag allows me to combine my love of books with another thing that I absolutely adore and love — GIFs! I’m so excited to do this. EEEEP! 😀

But before I start, here are THE RULES :

  1.  Mention the person who tagged you in your post and provide a link to their blog.
  2. Fill out the 9 questions in the tag.
  3. For each question, insert a GIF of how you feel about the book(s) or author.
  4. Tag 6 people and/or everyone to do this tag!
  5. Before you post the tag, do a five-second party dance. Cause you dat awesome! 😀

DONE MY DANCE.. NOW, LET’S START!

ONE : BEST STORY PREMISE

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. It was the first DB book that I had read and in my opinion it is his best. The plot has an incredible pace and the man knows how to exercise a parallel story line.

TWO : BEST WORLD BUILDING

The Hunger Games Trilogy. No doubt. Even though Mockingjay kind of disappointed me, I was blown away by Suzanne Collins dystopian world building. To imagine a scenario like that and then turn it into a full fledged revolution! 😮

 THREE : BEST CHARACTER

Harry Clifton from Only Time Will Tell by Jeffrey Archer. It takes a lot of courage and self-belief to fight social conventions since when you’re a kid. And at the end, he turned out to be a damn fine man!

FOUR : BEST SERIES

Do I even have to answer this? HARRY POTTER HARRY POTTER HARRY POTTER HARRY POTTER

FIVE : BEST TEARJERKER

A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. I cried out the entire Mariana Trench while reading this book. I was left a red eyed crying mess. Just thinking about the story, makes my heart sink. 😥

SIX : BEST AUTHOR

There are WAY too many authors to pick just one. J. K. Rowling, Dan Brown and Khaled Hosseini to name a few.

 SEVEN : BEST WRITING STYLE

Khaled Hosseini. The Kite Runner is such an incredible story. The way he brought out the emotions of the characters is nothing short of mesmerizing.

 EIGHT : BEST COVER

Oh, there are just plenty! The Gift by Cecelia Ahern. Even though the cover is really simple, I just love it (even my mum loves it). Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer (not a huge fan of the series but the covers are just gorgeous).

NINE : BEST ENDING

Hmm.. I’m finding this to be the most difficult. But I think I’ll go with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

REASON : Writing an amazing series is difficult. Writing a fitting end to an amazing series is even more difficult. I’ve found myself disappointed with so many endings. But HP 7 was just too damn good!

  1. I’m actually not a big fan of the Twilight covers, but they did start a type of cover trend in YA that I have to give them credit for.

And I agree that Mockingjay isn’t the strongest book in the series, but I did like the ending. It was bold.
