Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the uber awesome people at The Broke and the Bookish.
For this Tuesday, no topic has been designated. It is a FREEBIE WEEK. I can either do a topic of my choice or go back and do one that I missed. Since TTT has been going on for quite some time, I found a L-O-T of topics on the TTT index. After going through the list, I’ve decided to do this topic : Top Ten Popular Authors I’ve Never Read. There are just SO many authors I’ve never read and it was quite a task to limit the list to just ten but I finally succeeded. So let’s start with the list without any further ado! 😀
1. MARISSA MEYER
My mum gave me Cinder as a birthday gift (among other things) back in December and I’ve not yet read it. I’ve read so many great fabulous extraordinary reviews of The Lunar Chronicles and the fact that I’ve not yet read the first book makes me want to put my head down in shame. In my defense, I was busy with exams till 17th of May and after that I’ve been busy devouring my cousin’s books. I’m going to pick up Cinder soon. And I can’t stress how excited I’m for Heartless.
2. GEORGE R. R. MARTIN
I really really really want to start with A Song of Ice and Fire series and I’m hoping to buy the first book next month (fingers crossed). This is one of the most popular series ever and the show has such a tremendous fan following. I’ve watched the first season and I can’t wait to start reading and delve into the twisted world of the Starks, the Lannisters and the Targaryens.
3. SARAH J. MASS
I STILL have not read a single book written by her. I’ve been wanting to read ACOTAR for such a loooooong time but I’ve just never really come around to actually do it. I will. I will. Soon.
4. CASSANDRA CLARE
She is SUCH a popular author and all her books are such a hot favorite. To be honest, I’ve always been intimidated by the sheer number of books that she has written and to be even more honest, the covers of The Mortal Instruments have always kind of put me off (don’t want to disrespect anyone.. this is just my personal opinion). I hope to get past this soon and FINALLY pick up the first book in the series.
5.MAGGIE STIEFVATER
She is another popular unread author of mine. The Wolves of Mercy Falls Trilogy and The Raven Cycle are such popular series but I’ve never read them. I bought Shiver back in April but I’ve not come around to read it for aforementioned reasons. Hoping to pick it up in the near future.
6. SABAA TAHIR
I bought An Ember in the Ashes back in April but this is another popular book that I’ve not picked up despite all the great reviews that I’ve read. Sabaa Tahir liked one of my tweets a while back and it made me so giddy giddy goo with joy that I promised myself I’d pick up her book soon. I will. I will.
7. JOJO MOYES
Her books have made SO many people cry that I’m kind of scared to pick them up and start reading because I fear for my heart which might get shattered into a gazillion pieces. I REALLY want to watch the movie adaptation of Me Before You (Emilia Clarke looks so beautiful in the posters!<3) but I’d like to read the book before. So I’m hoping it’s enough of a nudge for me to FINALLY read a book written by her.
8. JHUMPA LAHIRI
She has made my country proud by winning the Pulitzer Prize in 2000 for Interpreter of Maladies. She was also nominated for the Man Booker Prize in 2013 for The Namesake. I’d really like to read her books. But I always stop myself from ordering any because I feel like maybe I won’t be able to fully appreciate her work. Maybe the books needs more maturity to fully understand her stories. I’m really drawn to the blurbs of her stories so I hope to read at least one of them in the near future.
9. ELENA FERRANTE
(No author picture because her public identity is not known.)
Her Neapolitan Novels are highly acclaimed and the last one – The Story of the Lost Child was also nominated for the Man Booker Prize in 2016. I’ve read a few wonderful reviews of her books and I really want to start with the series. But her books are way too expensive in India and I’ve not been able to buy the first one yet – My Brilliant Friend.
10. LAINI TAYLOR
She needs no introduction. Her Daughter of Smoke and Bone series is so popular but I’ve not read them yet. I’m really excited for her new series Strange the Dreamer so I’m hoping to start reading her books with this highly anticipated novel.
So this was the list of my unread popular authors. What about you? Is there any author from my list whose books you’ve never read? Do tell me about it! And what is your TTT topic for this week? Don’t forget to link me up!
Till the next time, all my amazing readers! Stay happpppy! 🙂
P.S. All the pictures used in this post have been obtained from Google Images.

Definitely read Cinder ASAP! It’s great. George RR Martin is awesome too, if you’re in for a long, long ride. Though I’d recommend not getting aboard now. The last two books are nowhere in sight, if it’s even going to be two.

Girl you’re not alone, lol.😸
The only one among the famous authors you’ve listed that I have already read is Cassandra Clare’s City of Bones (up to chapter14). I’m scared of the hype, haha.
Great list.👍
Anyway, if you’re interested, here’s my list:
